Therapy Dog Prep
Requirements:
A Therapy Dog must be at least 1 year old at the time of the test.
A Therapy Dog must be a friendly dog.
This class focuses on readying your dog to become a Therapy Dog. A well-mannered, well-behaved dog that enjoys meeting people can become a Therapy Dog and make a difference in the lives of people in need.
Therapy Dogs come in all sizes and breeds. They provide companionship and comfort to patients in hospitals, nursing homes, rehabilitation facilities and in other settings. Spending time with a Therapy Dog promotes healing, emotional well-being and improved quality of life for those in need. Reductions in anxiety, depression, stress and blood pressure are just a few of the proven healing benefits that Therapy Dogs provide.
Please skip your pup’s meal before class. Bring it with you along with some soft yummy treats and a six foot leash.
