Tricks are a fun activity to do with your dog and a great way for those who are interested to earn titles from the American Kennel Club (AKC).
Teaching our dogs tricks is fun and rewarding for both the dog and handler.
Is this class right for you and your dog?
Do you and your dog:
• Want to build skills and love learning
• Want to improve your skills as trainers
• Want to increase clarity and communication
• Want to build self-confidence
• Want to learn and train while having fun
• Want to build a strong bond
• Want help in other future dog sports
• Want to add titles
• Want to build focus
• Want physical and mental exercises
• Want to improve obedience and manners
We use positive motivational methods such as a clicker, marker word, and/or treats to shape, capture or lure tricks. Great way to communicate. Many of the AKC Trick Dog Novice and Intermediate trick skills will be introduced.
This is a 45 minute class held once a week for 6 weeks. Small class size. Dogs of all ages are welcome, though we recommend that you have completed Manners I.
Group classes are not appropriate for dogs that are fearful, anxious, have uncontrollable barking or lunge with aggression towards other dogs or people. We suggest you seek out private training to get this under control prior to a group class.
*This class will introduce 10-15 basic tricks that can be used to earn the Novice tricks title.
There is so much more to learn besides sit!
